There aren't enough hours in the day.. sigh!

The fullest of full days;

step one: finish presentation material
Phew!

step two: take aforementioned material to very expensive printer
$$$$

step three: styling
more shoes required $$$ ouch!

step four: photo shoot for the 'tiser
Fun!

step five: race around like a madwomen setting up for presentation tomorrow
hectic

Drive home and realise I need to drink some more water
Thirsty

Here are some behind the scenes from step four:

The aforementioned glorious navy blue rabbit fur was primarily purchased for a short capelet; however having some leftover and this picture in mind....
I am dreaming of a full collar, worn over something a little slinky with some accidental cleavage....
behold!

when the fur flies!

After taking delivery of my glorious dark navy blue rabbit furs construction begins!
Its a messy affair....

Photo shoot!

Had such a great time at the photoshoot!
Slightly stressful morning hand sewing the fur onto the coat as I really wanted to get it photographed, how lovely and shiny it is!

Many thanks go to Jesse- photographer, Tina and Tina from hair and beauty TTG Tafe, Shannon- model from Finesse and Aurum Rundle St for loaning me the gorgeous rings (the purple one may be going on my christmas list....)

just a few buttons to go.....................

Shouldn't take too long!
If I had a dollar for each time I said this; well I guess I would be paying someone to sew these on!

my loverly buttons are from button bar in Adelaide Arcade, very pretty, with a pricetag to match unfortunately!

Fabrics, Glorious Fabrics!

Being a little afraid of patterns my collection is driven rather by colour. Rich jewel tones in high quality fibres with subtle textures and finishes. Unfortunately my photos do not do some of the fabrics justice especially the amber coloured silk charmeuse, so much more vibrant and intense than can be captured by my camera!

The ruby red and the deep purple satin back crepe will be incorporated using both sides of the fabric to create a deeper textural element.

My love of navy blue as a base colour is being represented by an amazing wool suiting, super fine and soft with a lovely drape and slight sheen and my wool cashmere blend coating, so soft and warm however remaining sleek and elegant.

And lastly my rabbit furs! ahh so soft and supple with an incredible natural sheen that hasnt been lost in the dying process. The sheen is something that just cannot be replicated by faux fur, well at least none I have seen or have access to. The deep brown of the fur looks so rich and elegant paired with the wool coating and if there is enough leftover will make an amazing full collar/scarfe that would look incredibly luxe against the amber silk charmeuse. fingers crossed!

And who supplied these incredible fabrics...... Catwalk fabrics in Brompton, Eastern Silk, Jackson Furs in Brisbane and through Alan Broadbent; Davisha Textiles and Fabric Exchange.

October 15.................

my chosen designs draw inspiration from masculine tailoring such as;
The tuxedo panel down the side seam of the long elegant skirt
French cuffs on the shirts and the pants complete with cufflinks
The stiff stand up collar of the halterneck top reminiscent of the detatchable collars of the 1920's
Tailored ladies suit complete with tuxedo style lapel details and a breast pocket with contrasting pocket handkerchief

Fabrics include silk charmeuse, silk georgette, wool cashmere coating, superfine wool suiting, satin back crepe and of course rabbit fur; long haired, super soft and richly coloured
